Overview

The Deafening

A shattering noise, then silence. Everything was washed away by the riptide that carried me here. And whatever remained was now drifting into the nothingness I had almost forgotten.

There, I perceived what appeared to be a two sided coin - perpetually revolving around itself, never showing either side and yet both. Strangely drawn towards it, I was determined to reveal what it could mean to me.

Had someone tossed it into the void - or had it been there ever since it came to be?

I grasped the opportunity and snatched the coin, ending in a lucid moment what could have been a persisting for all eternity. Shackledin the superposition of two equally probable - or perhaps improbable states.

I gazed at the coin in my hand and saw it unveil a crowned and disturbing visage. Just when i realized what it was, the darkness around me began to bend.

But what could have had whatever it took to appear around here?

What a time to have been

What was it that lead his thoughts this day? Was it the picture of a mad king on his wall or the dusty instrument rotting in its chamber. He knew it had been only a matter of time until his lurking past would push back into his conscience. But he couldn't quite catch what he was trying to think about. Just a scrap in the library that his mind had become. The more he reached out for it, the more it seemed to hide away behind ranks and ranks of memories. He sat there in silence with nothing but despair and desire to remember.
